The Front Office:
As you pass through our front doors,
we ask that you go to the front desk
where our receptionist will greet
you and have you sign in. By signing
in we will then be able to make sure
that your chart has been updated and
ready for our staff to better serve
you. If you are a new patient we ask
that you bring proof of insurance,
photo identification, any
medications that you are currently
taking, and any films that may be
relevant to your treatment. All new
patients will be required to fill
out a patient information packet,
which will take approximately 15-20
minutes to do, so make sure you
allot enough time to complete these
forms. After you have been seen by
Dr. Khan and prior to leaving the
office we ask, again that you stop
by the front desk where the
receptionist will schedule you for
your next appointment and collect
any charges that may apply to you.
Physician Room:
After signing in and completing the
appropriate paperwork you will be
met by one of the nurses who will
ask you to follow them to one of the
rooms where the doctor will be able
to assess your needs in privacy.
Prior to the physician seeing you,
it is important to share with the
nurse any changes in medications,
symptoms you may have developed, or
questions you may have about your
treatment. Dr. Khan will perform a
physical examination, review with
you any test results and any
significant findings, then develop
with you an understanding of these
findings, and discuss with you
possible treatment options.
Together as a team you, Dr. Khan and
the nursing staff will define a plan
of care that specifically meets your
individual needs.
The Chemo Suite:
If you are at our facility to
receive chemotherapy, we ask that
you sign in at the front desk, where
the receptionist will make us aware
of your arrival. You will be greeted
by one of the nurses who will guide
you to the chemo suite. Inside you
will see eight comfortable rocking/
reclining chairs where you will be
able to sit back and relax, curl up
in a blanket, talk shop, watch
television, or read a book while you
receive your treatment. The
chemotherapy suite is designed with
you in mind. It is within this very
room where we truly get to know each
and every patient and develop strong
relationship with them. It is very
important to us that every aspect of
your care is evaluated and curtailed
to meet your needs as an individual.
Education is essential in
understanding your diagnosis and the
treatment plan; we strive to achieve
this with you. A lot of new
information is given to you in such
a short period of time and we
realize that. Therefore as your
nurses we will work with you and
your family to make sure that we
continually educate you and support
you both physically and emotionally.
